BEHLMAN (Hauppauge, NY) has introduced the compact the BL7000-5056 high   power, three-phase 400 Hz to single-phase 60 Hz frequency converters that deliver 7000 VA of clean, regulated AC power in a 19 inch rack mount that is only 10 1/2 inches high. 

A digitally controlled waveform produces clean AC power like a linear supply with the high efficiency and small size of a switching supply. Innovative protection circuitry provides for voltage fold-back during overloads to maintain undistorted waveforms. A multi-pulsed input transformer offers low harmonic distortion and high input power factor. The BL7000-5056 feature a microprocessor controller with 24 characters x 2 lines Vacuum Fluorescent display and a RS-232 interface for remote control and read back of voltage, frequency, current & current limit. The unit has protection and indicators for Over Voltage, Over Current, Over Temperature, Constant Current and Short Circuit, plus a contact closure for output On/Off.

The BL7000 is ruggedly built and designed to meet the rigors of installation on aircraft including MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461. It has internal fans for cooling and three MIL type connectors for input, output and control. Price is around $12,500 and delivery is 90 days.
